Emma was the daughter of Wiley W. Squires and Mary Jane Coe Squires. She married Carl A. Sherrill on 10/12/1892. They had the following children: Mabel F.; Elbert Alfred; Vada Burnice; Thelma; and Floy Belle.

Deaths
Sherrill, Filmore Squires, was born Dec. 4, 1877, in Pensacola, Fl. and died Jan. 17, 1949 in Ingram, Tex., at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Floy Michalka. She was baptized into the Reorganized Church in early youth. Her husband, Dr. Carl Sherrill, to whom she was married on Oct. 12, 1892, preceded her in death.

She is survived by two other daughters besides Mrs. Michalka; they are Mrs. Mabel Lightsey of Eola, Tex. and Mrs. Thelma Elam of Medina, Tx. She also leaves a son Fred of Springfield, Mo. eight grandchildren and four great-grand children. Funeral services were held at the Methodist Church of Medina, Texas. Elder Carl Wheeler and the Reverend J. C. Campbell officiating. Interment was in Baker Cemetery.
(Note the original obit states that Mrs. Mabel Lightsey was from Eola, TX, but Peggy Norcross who provided the obit, states she thinks it may be a misprint and it was Lola, TX.)
