"Ethan Allen married 3 times. His first 2 wives died. He reared 7 children in Houston, TX. He was a doctor. His 4 sons were also doctors." (Note: The fact that he is listed as "widowed" in the 1900 census lends credence to Lilly Sherrill Mitchell's recollection.)

There was organized in the 19th of February, 1889, a branch of the reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of the Latter Day Saints, by E. W. Nunnley, with the following members, viz:
