She married Frederick Morris on January 28, 1871, at Constantine, St. Joseph County, Michigan.

Mrs. Fred Morris of Harper Texas Claimed by Death

After several weeks of illness Mrs. Fred Morris died Wednesday morning at 11 o'clock, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Paul DeLorey. Mrs. Morris had been in feeble health for sometime, but recently suffered a stroke of paralysis, which, together with the infirmities of old age, caused her death.

Mrs. Morris was well known to hundreds of people throughout the Hill Country, and she was highly esteemed and loved by all who knew her. Her passing brings sadness to a great host of friends.

Mrs. Alice Ellsworth Morris was born in Michigan, March 19, 1854, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Norman Ellsworth. She was married to Fred Morris in Michigan, January 28, 1871. Eight children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Morris, four of whom survive. They are John S. Morris, of Harper, C.E. Morris, of Kerrville, Mrs. Maggie DeLorey, of Harper, and Mrs. Effie Belle Wake, of Waco. Mr. Morris preceded his wife in death in 1910. Four children, William, Fred, Tommie, and Lizzie, also preceded her in death.

She is survived by 10 grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Two brothers, Clarence Elsworth, Wetmore, Texas, and Burdett Ellsworth of Langdon, Kansas, also survive.

Mrs. Morris came to Texas with her husband in 1888 and Morris Ranch became the family home. She was a member of the Presbyterian church.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. with Rev. W.A. Belcher, Methodist pastor of Harper, officiating, Schaetter and Son, of Fredericksburg, have charge of funeral arangements. Interment will be made in the family burial plot at Morris Ranch and the pioneer mother will be laid to rest beside her husband..
