Mable LeJeune Cart Doise, Age 89, a life time resident of Iota, LA died on Sunday, February 22, 2009 at Southwind Nursing Home in Crowley.

She was born in Iota on January 8, 1920. She is survived by her second husband Leo Doise; one brother Calvin Gibson LeJeune and his wife Mae of Belle Chase; one sister-in-law, Evelyn LeJeune of Iota; two sons, Darrell Francis Cart of Crowley, Kirk Joseph Cart and his wife Jackie of Iota; one daughter, Dianna Cart Simar and her husband Milton of Iota, nine grandchildren Darleen Cart Ham, Desiree Cart Dugas, Darren Cart, Brandi Cart Vidrine Melesha Simar Andrus, Andre' Simar Wallace, Kaleb Cart, Laura Cart, and Hillary Cart; fourteen great grandchildren; four stepchildren, Janet Doise Moise, Ruth Doise Miller, Gerard Doise, and Ralph Doise and several step-grandchildren and step-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents Ira LeJeune and Anna Romaine LeJeune; her first husband, Francis Cart; four brothers, Iran Lejeune, Gordon LeJeune, Griffin LeJeune, and Orvin Joe LeJeune; one sister, Ethel LeJeune Reed.

Mrs. Doise was a homemaker, retired restaurant owner, and farm owner.
In her early years she played an active role as a room mother, member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church of Iota, active member of the Acadia Parish Home Demonstration Club, and the Iota Ladies Quilting Group. She enjoyed traveling and meeting people.

Visitation will be at Geesey-Ferguson Funeral Home in Iota on Monday, February 23, 2009 from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and on Tuesday, February 24, 2009 from 8:00 a.m. until time of services. A rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, February 23, 2009. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Iota at 10:00 on Tuesday, February 24, 2009 with the Reverend Mikel Polson as celebrant. Interment will be in the St. Joseph Church Cemetery.

The family would like to acknowledge the compassionate care given by her caregivers, especially Rose Golbert and Lisa Hebert, also the Louisiana Hospice and Palliative Care of Jennings, LA and Southwind Nursing Home of Crowley.
