Catherine Taylor Whiteman, 83, formerly of Oakwood, passed away Friday, February 19, 2010 in Buffalo, TX.
Catherine was born in Lyons County, Arkansas to Benjamin L. and Gladys Hallman Taylor. She had lived in Arkansas and Oklahoma, but had lived most of her life in Texas. She was a member of First Christian Church of Oakwood.
She loved and enjoyed her family.
Catherine was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert Lee Whiteman; son-in-law, Cecil Ivan Bell; brother, Benjamin Taylor; sisters, Imogene Miller, Josephine Balch, Genevia Shilling; half brothers, Willard Earl Jones, Lewis Jones, Charlie Norvin Jones, and half sister, Charlene Adams.
Surviving family members include her son, Delbert Lee (Carolyn) Whiteman of Terrell, TX; daughter, Dorothy Louise Bell of Oakwood; half sister, Louise Brock of Hatfield, Arkansas; five grandchildren, Cecil Ivan (Joann) Bell, Jr. of Magnolia, Ernest Lee (Kathy) Bell of Magnolia, Justin Christopher (Julie) Bell of Oakwood, Debra Ann Whiteman and Christopher Lee Whiteman; great grandchildren, Justin Dyer, Ernest Logan Bell, Eric Landon Bell, Heather Rose Bell, Roy Lucas Bell, Cecil Ivan "Trey" Bell III, Charlie Jackson Bell, Anna Castaneda Whiteman; great-great-granddaughter, Shianne Bell; her companion housedog, Missy.
Graveside services were held Sunday, February 21, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at the Oakwood Cemetery in Oakwood. Oakwood Church of Christ pastor Jamie Duplishan officiating.
Walters Buffalo Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
