Lina W. Banman
Lina Wilson Banman, lovingly known by family and friends as 'Tot,' was born the daughter of Burton W. and Eva Jane Beard Webb on March 16, 1890, in Stanford, Illinois. In the spring of 1900, the family moved and settled in the McPherson area.
As a young woman, Lina taught school in the McPherson County area. On October 29, 1916, she was united in marriage to John Samuel Banman on her parents farm near McPherson. They shared fifty-eight years of devoted companionship together, with his death on December 23, 1974.
Lina was an active member of the First United Methodist Church and a life member of its W.S.C.S. (United Methodist Women). Just prior to her passing, Lina surpassed 2,000 hours of service to the Hospital Auxiliary. Additionally, she was a charter member of the War Dad and an active member of the Eastern Star, Retired Teachers Association, the Priscilla Art Club, the Garden Club and Senior Citizens.
Survivors include two sons.
