She was born in Celina, Ohio, came to Muncie as a child with her parents, attended St. Lawrence Catholic School, and spent most of her life in this area.
Mrs. Coons was employed for several years with the American Laundry and French Steam Dye Works. She was a memberof St. Lawrence Catholic Church.
Surviving are several nieces and nephews including Thelma Greiwe and Rita Whitworth, both of Muncie, John Carter, Hobart, and Mary Dunn in Missouri.
Her daughter, Mary Ellen Coons, died in 1936.
Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in St. Lawrence Catholic Church at 10 a.m. Wednesday by Rev. Louis Heitz. Burial will be in Elm Ridge Cemetery.
Calling will be at Meeks Mortuary 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday. Rosary will be recited there at 4 p.m. Tuesday. Memorials may be sent to St. Lawrence Catholic Church, 920 E. Charles St., Muncie 47305.
