Arthur Seeley Brewster, who was born in New York State and as a child accompanied his parents to Ashtabula County, Ohio. From there he came to Kansas after the close of the Civil War and located at White Cloud in Doniphan County, and built up an extensive practice in Doniphan, Brown and other counties. He served six years as county attorney and held other positions of trust. He was a graduate of the Albany Law School of New York.

Arthur Seeley Brewster died December 24, 1905. He was a Republican and a Presbyterian. He married Miss Byard. Their children were: Arthur Wadsworth, who became a prominent republican at Kansas City, Missouri, where he died; Sardius Mason; Robert Reginald, active in Republican politics at Kansas City; Harry, in the postal service of Kansas City; Annie, who married I. B. Morgan of Kansas City, Kansas; and Madge, deceased.
