Chans Russell Garling, 16, of Hanna, IN, died Saturday, May 17, 2008, at La Porte Hospital, following an auto accident.

He was born Sept. 4, 1991, in Winamac, IN, to Russell and Tina (Patton) Garling.

He was a freshman at South Central High School. He was a member of the school's football team and a member of Davis Wesleyan Church.

Surviving are his father, of Hanna; his mother of Lafayette; his stepfather, Russ King of Lafayette; two sisters, Brittany (Seth) of Bloomington, and Faith of Hanna; grandparents, John Garling of Wheatfield, IN, Betty Garling of Monon, IN, and Ray Patton of Rensselaer; great-grandmother, Mary Garling of Wheatfield; and nephew, Kamden Tse of Hanna.

The funeral will be today at 1 p.m. at Davis Wesleyan Church, Hamlet, with Rev. Charles M. Neace officiating. Friends may call today from 10 a.m. until the service. Burial will be in Hanna Cemetery, Hanna, IN. Braman and Bailey Funeral Home, North Judson is in charge of arrangements.
