She died of gallstones in Calwood, Missouri where she had lived most of her life.
Leah was born January 22, 1844 in Williamsburg, Ohio, the daughter of Joseph and Elizabeth (Howe) Spring. She came to Missouri at an early age and married David Draper who preceeded her in death.
Leah was a house wife and raised three children, Lillie Draper Craighead, Josephine Draper Jones and Elsworth Draper.
Lillie Draper Craighead, Leah's daughter, was the informant. Dr. Rueben Simcoe was the attending physician and Harry Reed, undertaker, was in charge of funeral arrangements.
She lies in New Hope Babtist Cemetary, south of Calwood, beside her husband and son. Her daughter, Lillie lies beside her husband at Ebenezer Church Cemetery, four miles east of Fulton and her other daughter, Josephine, lies in Hillcrest Cemetery, Fulton, beside her husband.
