BARBER ALLEN
died
June 19, 1842
in his 56 year

But he is gone, the conflict pain is over,
That gentle bosom throbs no more;
The spirit freed through realms of light,
Faith's eagle-glance pursues his flight,
To other worlds - to happier skies,
Hope dries the tears, which sorrow weepeth,
The Christian is not dead, but sleepeth.
