Justis Orr, was one of four Orr brothers, Will, Jim and Charlie who came to Texas from Alabama. They settled in what was later called Orr's Switch in 1850s.
Justis married Hessie McKinley of Longview, Texas where they lived for a time. After their son Samuel was born they moved to Cass County and built their home on what is now known as the Mims Chapel road. Justis and Hessie had three other children: Charlie, Alice and Mattie.
