Fern Goble, as she was known, was the mother of one of my childhood friends, Timberly. She was such a sweet lady who would go out of her way to help anyone. I have fond memories of her braiding my hair when I went down to swim at their pool, so that my hair wouldn't get caught in the drain. She loved her parrots Charlie and Fred and treated them as family, too.
She was a wonderful mother and grandmother. My friend Timberly was not quite 17 when her mom passed away and it was extremely difficult for her. I miss Fern a lot and think of her often.
