"Born October 17, 1817 in Overton County. Joined the United Baptist in February 1838, licensed to preach 2nd Saturday in October 1839. Ordained at Union Baptist Church by Wm. D. Sewell & J.S. Copeland. Presbyterion the 3rd Sabbath in October 1841. Delegate to the Association first in 1839 & generally thereafter until 1881. Departed this life September 26, 1882 in Monroe Co,KY, aged 64 years 11 months & 16 days. He was an acceptable minister with his people, and although greatly afflicted in body during the greater part of his ministerial life, he endured them all with Christian resignation & traveled & labored extensively & profitable to the Master's cause. To his bereaved family & relations we extend our Christian Sympathy & pray that we may all live so as to be prepared to meet our beloved & departed brother in Heaven, is the desire of the Association.

Married Martha E. Taylor Dec 5, 1839 and married Sarah Woolsey Mar 24, 1863.
