Thomas Richard Barrett

Thomas Richard (Dick) Barrett, 67, of Lexington died Tuesday at Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson.

Funeral services were held Thursday, April 24 from Southern Funeral Home chapel with Rev. Daniel McKee officiating, assisted by the Rev. Leslie Nabors and the Rev. Howard Allen. Burial was Odd Fellows Cemetery.

A native of Lexington, Mr. Barrett was born November 27, 1912. He was a son of William Oliver Barrett and Rachel Burwell Barrett. He was a retired planter and a veteran of World War II, serving with the U.S. Navy. He was a member of the - church.

Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Cargill H. Barrett; two daughters, Mrs. Olivia B. Linfield and Mrs. Rachel B. Thompson, both of Lexington, two brothers, William Barrett and Pat Montgomery Barrett of Lexington; four nieces, Mrs. B. Harvey of Madison, Mrs. Mildred B. - Houston, Texas, Mrs. Ann L. Petty of Silito, Texas and Mrs. Mary L. Harpole of Smyrna, Tenn.; three nephews, William Barrett and Pat Montgomery Barrett, Jr., of Lexington ; and W.B. Barrett of Hattiesburg.
