Her mother married William Thomas Cinnamon, Sr about 1885,after Katie was born, and had four children, and then married her brother-in-law, after his wife died, James Franklin Boruff March 12, 1893 in Union Co., TN and had seven children. Katie was raised by her grandparents, John & Susan Adaline Mosier Berry. Katie's father was John Shelton, Jr.
