Funeral for James A. Waggoner, 84, of Atoy, was at 2 p.m. Monday in the Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Daniel F. Rankin Jr. officiating. Burial was in Atoy Cemetery.
Mr. Waggoner died Feb. 25 in the V. A. Hospital at Waco. He was born Dec. 13, 1915, in Atoy. He was a Lon Morris College graduate and a life-long Atoy resident. He was a member of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Atoy and was a retired self-employed farmer and rancher.
He was an Air Force veteran of Would War II, serving from Sept. 11, 1942 until Feb. 1946. He was preceded in death by his father, William (Will) A. Waggoner; his mother, Mary Stephenson Waggoner; a sister Winona Waggoner Perry and a niece Carol Sue Perry.
Survivors are a brother and sister-in-law, John and Evelyn Waggoner of Atoy; a sister, Juanita Maitland of Atoy; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.
Pallbearers were Weldon Maitland, Michael Perry, Rick Waggoner, Craig Maitland, Shae Perry and Ron Fredrick.
Dennis Datson and Cody Perry were honorary pallbearers.
