VESSELS Muerl Clement Vessels, 82, born September 10, 1917 in Enid, OK to Frank C. and Edith Vessels. Mr. Vessels attended Phillips University in Enid, OK. Muerl served in the Army's Rainbow Infantry Division during World War II. He began a long career in the oilfield industry in New Orleans, LA as a member of a seismographic crew. He later worked in oilfield equipment sales with Dunigan Oil and Larkin Packer Company in Houston, TX. He was Regional Sales Manager for Joy Oil Tool in Houston, TX, Dallas, TX and Irvine, CA. He retired from Joy and moved to Oklahoma City in 1977. Muerl was active in the petroleum industry's Purchasing Agents Association, the Petroleum Club, Oklahoma City Golf and Country Club and served as an usher at Christ the King Catholic Church. He is preceded in death by his first wife, Lucille, and son, Muerl Clement Vessels Jr.; parents, Frank and Edith Vessels, brothers Harold and Leon (Buck) Vessels and sister, Pauline Dettle Turner. Muerl is survived by his wife, Sylvia; two daughters Betty Bruce, her husband Larry, & Barbara Vessels of Dallas, TX, step daughter and stepson: Ellen Wilson of Winchester, MA and Bill Warner of Edmond; grandson Barrett Bruce of Austin, TX; step grandchildren: Paige Warner, Will Warner, Sophie Warner, Claire Warner and Hannah Warner of Edmond & Susan Wilson of Winchester, MA; sister Marjorie Sumicek, Houston, TX and eighteen nieces and nephews. Muerl was a loving husband, father, brother and a friend to all. He was an active golfer and loved to travel the world over. Muerl will be deeply missed by his family and friends. We will all remember that love leaves behind more than death takes away. Donations may be given to Christ the King Catholic Church Building Fund. Funeral Services will be Friday, January 14th at Christ the King Catholic Church at 10:00 a.m. with burial to follow at Resurrection Memorial Cemetery.
