Mrs. Walter Scott

Funeral services for Mrs. Walter H. Scott, 73, widow of the late Walter H. Scott, were held at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Southern Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Gus Merritt officiating. Burial followed in Odd Fellows Cemetery.

Mrs. Scott died Monday at the County Community Hospital after an illness of three days. She was born in Mangham, La. and reared in Central Texas. She had lived in Lexington thirty-four years where Mr. Scott was band director twenty-five years.

Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Evelyn Rutledge, Lexington; and six sisters, Mrs. J. L. Burns, Phoenix, Arizona, Mrs. Ruby Brickley, Powder Springs, Ga., Mrs. R. B. Crook, and Mrs. Jasper Pleasant, both of Memphis, Tenn., Mrs. L. G. Layton, Westover, Maryland, and Mrs. Earl Marshall, Millen, Ga.

Pallbearers were J.P. Tidwell, Joe Cowan, Eugene Herrman, Lorance Frost, Mike Lammons, Vernon Hathcock, Vernon Roe Hathcock and W.B. Ozwalt.
