He attended elementary school in Northfield before moving to Windsor, VT where he grew up.
On June 27, 1943, he married Ruth Lois Smith in Cornish, NH. They made their home in Newport, NH.
Prior to his retirement, he was employed as a machinist at Joy Mfg Co for thirty-eight years.
He enjoyed having a large garden and sharing most of the produce with friends and neighbors. He also enjoyed woodworking, making many creations for family and friends as gifts. He also loved family gatherings and his animals.
He was predeceased by his wife on December 8, 1995; one sister Deborah Buck; and two brothers Harold and Wallace Motschman.
He is survived by four children; Margaret Frizzell of Stark, NH, Lois Soderstrom of Deland, FL, Herbert Motschman of Appleton, WI, and Deborah Beezel of Newport; seven grandchildren; three great grandchildren; three sisters Jean Kinney of Winthrop, ME, Louise Motschman of Salem, NH and Ruth Canelas of Pelham, NH; three brothers F Leslie Motschman and Kenneth Motschman of Hartland and Raymond Motschman of Pelham, NH; and many nieces and nephews.
Burial will be in the Moulton cemetery in Meriden, NH.
