SILVER CREEK, Neb. - Lucy W. Martens, 66, of Silver Creek, Neb., died Nov. 13 at her home in Silver Creek.
She was the daughter of Vernon and Theresa Smith Nansel.
Born in Monroe, Neb., she was a homemaker and worked at Tooley Lunch Counter in Columbus. She was a member of the Catholic Church and a former resident of Sidney, Ark., for 12 years.
Survivors include five sons, Jim Martens of Columbus, Rick Martens and Larry Martens, both of West Plains, Mo., Joe Martens of Sidney and Ron Martens of Batesville; three duaghters, Janet Bivens and Lori McIntosh, both of Silver Creek, and Sheri Robinson of Grand Island; a brother, Marlow Nansel, of Sidney; four sisiters, Agatha Cochran of Mountain Home, Idaho, Mary Keeler of Pamona, Califo., Kay Shananhan of Rio Del, Calif., and Pat Tritten of Eureka, Calif.; and nine grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Harold W. "Slim" Martens; a son; and two brothers.
The funeral was Nov. 16 at McKown Funeral Home in Silver Creek, with the Rev. Jay E. Schmidt and Ellen Campbell officiating. Burial was in Valley View Cemetery in Genoa, Neb.
