Funeral services for Ruth Cowger, 95, of Frankston, were held Sunday, Dec. 28, 2014, at Hilltop Baptist Church in Berryville with the Rev. George Folmar officiating. Interment followed at Wofford Cemetery in Frankston. Services were under direction of Autry Funeral Home in Frankston.
Mrs. Cowger passed away Wednesday, Dec. 24, 2014, in Jacksonville.
She was born Feb. 19, 1919, in Wimple, Louisiana, to Robert and Elizabeth Waldrum.
Ruth was a member of Hilltop Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Cowger; daughter, Elizabeth Ann (Beth) Benjamin; brothers, James Waldrum and Everett Waldrum; sisters, Rachel Lindsey and Helen Jo Guillott; a granddaughter, Misty Dawn Benjamin (Williams); and a great-granddaughter, Skylar Dawn Hawkins.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Helen Jean Hawkins of Frankston, Patsy Ruth Henderson of Houston and Sharon Lee Martin of Jacksonville; and brother, John C. Waldrum of Piersol. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were her grandsons, Clayton Guynes, Chad Guynes, Allan Hawkins, John Hawkins, Danny Guynes, and Cass Williams.
