His father was. James Abner Watson and his mother, Mary Jane (Ayers) Watson. They had six girls and three boys.

Jim grew up in Missouri

He married Anna Marie Jefferis 10 May 1885 in Missouri.

They left Missouri and came west the following week after their marriage. They lived in the Sacramento Valley for two years. In 1887 they left CA came to Lincoln County, WA where he worked on farms until 1889 when he homesteaded land west of town.

1900 they were enumerated at Harrington, Lincoln County, WA. Stated they had 7 children and 5 living.

In 1921 they moved to town.

He was a member of the Harrington Baptist Church.

Interment was in Hillcrest Cemetery where a daughter, who died in childhood, is buried.
