Absalom T. Humphreys was the first of three children born to Henry Humphreys (1787-1840) and his wife Letitia Harper (1785-1835, formerly Mrs. Robert Lindsay, Jr.) His parents had both been married previously, so he had two Humphreys half siblings, six Lindsay half siblings, and two full siblings. Absalom married Susan Dick, the daughter of Judge John M. Dick, in 1842. He died in 1844, at the age of 22.
