Edith Adamson Heim, age 86, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 27, 1994 at the Rocky Mountain Care Center, Holladay, in Salt Lake City.
She was born May 22, 1908 in American Fork, Utah to David Alfonzo and Harriett Amelia Elliott Adamson. She married William H. Heim on April 28, 1941 in Salt Lake. He passed away on July 3, 1950. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple in 1951.She has lived in Utah most of her life. After the depression, she attended the Henager Business College to improve her business abilities, where she became a telephone operator. Later in her life she went to work for the Utah State Employment Security Division where she retired. She has been a very active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints during her life. She has served many callings: Ward librarian, cultural refinement, ward examiner (genealogy), ward historian, magazine director, Junior Gleaner teacher, stake music director, stake chorister, ward chorister, secretary to the ward clerk, and what she was most proud of, she sang in the Tabernacle Choir. In 1977 she was called to the Salt Lake Temple as a receptionist. She was coordinating chairman for the cancer drive.
Survivors include her two daughters: Suzanne (Richard C.) Sant, Anchorage, Alaska; Sharon Merriam, Salt Lake City; with eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; one brother, Ned Adamson, Las Vegas, Nevada.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 2, 1994, 11 a.m., at the 14th Ward Chapel, Salt Lake Stake, 142 West 200 North. Friends may call on Friday 6-7 p.m. at the Walker Funeral Home, 85 East 300 South, Provo and one hour prior to services at the church in Salt Lake. Interment will take place in the Provo City Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Walker Funeral Home, Provo.
