Dub was born in Coleman County on January 21, 1921, the son of Edgar Abbey and Bernice (Kelley) Abbey. He had lived in Comanche most of his life. He was married to Fannie Clawson in San Antonio on February 2, 1941. He was a truck driver and a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
Survivors include his wife Fannie; two sons, Franklin (Nita) of Comanche, Eugene (Patricia) of Fort Worth; one daughter, Mary Chancellor (Jesse) of Comanche; three brothers, Elmo, Wayland, and Gaylon of Comanche; sister Nadine Clawson (Hughlon) of San Antonio; and five grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Saturday, October 17, at the Comanche Funeral Home Chapel.
Burial was at Taylor's Chapel Cemetery.
