This lady is my Mother-in-law. I just missed meeting her by a couple of years. She was a true lady. Monnie loved her son and daughter, and all her grandchildren.She was always doing something, did'nt like idle hands. It was said she could make a feast out of just a few ingredients and loved "feedin' her army".
After her beloved first husband (Ben) died, Monnie and her baby girl moved to Oklahoma, where Monnie met and married Elam Edward Hensley. She had a son, Herbert Edward by Elam. After several years, they divorced and Monnie went back to her previous married name, Allen. On the divorce papers, Elam stated that Monnie deserted him and Edward, but that was not the case. Elam took Edward at the age of 4 years and just left one day. Monnie never found them and after a few weeks of questioning everyone she could,and running out of money, gave up searching, took her daughter and went back to California. The next time Mother and son saw each other, Edward was 18 years old. You can bet there were happy tears that day,for sure!
I recently found out Monnie was named after her fathers second middle name,his name is Arthur Brown Monnihan Jordan, her mother's name is Margart Ann (Stinson) Jordan.
Monnie has a brother, Ralph Jordan, on FAG. His memorial # is 31562412.
