He was born on May 1, 1929, in Topeka, the son of Clyde L. Sr. and Agnes Wood Schwartz.
Mr. Schwartz worked for May Ransom Sheetz Construction Co. in Topeka, and later owned and operated S&S Lawn Service with his son, Larry.
He was a member of Assumption Catholic Church.
He married Lorraine Locke on Sept. 4, 1945, in Lawrence. She survives.
Other survivors are a son, Larry Schwartz, Topeka; three daughters, Sharon Gray, Eagle, Idaho, Cindy Schwerdt, Topeka, and Sheila Sloop, Ozawkie; a sister, Jacquelyn Gager, Topeka; 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; two step-great grandchildren; and a great-great granddaughter.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Yvonne "Bonnie" Hefner; and a great-granddaughter, Jennifer Abby.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at Assumption Catholic Church. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mr. Schwartz will lie in state from 1 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Davidson Funeral Home. A parish rosary will be recited at 5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. The family will receive friends following the rosary until 7p.m.
