"Atlanta Constitution, 10 July 1880
Death of Mrs. J. M. Ball.
Thursday night last about 10 o'clock the death of Mrs. James M. Ball occurred at New Holland springs, in Hall county, where she has been an invalid for some weeks past.
Mrs. Ball's condition has been considered hopeless for weeks past, and in consequence her death was not unexpected.
She was removed from a bed of sickness in this city to New Holland several weeks ago where it was hoped that her health would be benefited by a change in climate. Such, however, was not the case, and after a lingering illness death came and relieved her of her suffering.
A telegram announced the fact of her death at an early hour
yesterday morning, which was received with much sorrow.
The remains reached Atlanta last night and were carried to the residence of Major John A. Fitten, on McDonough street, from which place the funeral will take place to-day at the hour specified in the funeral notice which appears in another column."
