Mrs. Addie J. Perkins, 87, mother of Mrs. James Brooks of Clayton, Ia., died at a convalescence home in Ellsworth, Ia., at 11:55 p.m. Saturday, September 17, 1955. Mrs. Perkins, who lived at Manchester, Ia., came to Clayton July 18 to make her home with her daughter. She suffered a stroke and was taken to Ellsworth for further care August 24.

Funeral services were held at 2 o'clock Monday afternoon at Fairmont, Neb., with Rev. Jack Mathis of Clayton officiating. Burial was in the Fairmont Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Harry Perkins, Fred Baker, Walter Moul, Lou Moul, Harry Smith and Curtis Roper. Oliver Moul sang "In the Garden" and "Abide with Me." Mrs. A. P. Stewart was the accompanist.

Mrs. Perkins was born November 14, 1867, in Illinois, a daughter of John and Amanda (Cox) McCashland. When four years old the family moved to Fairmont and it was there that she grew to womanhood.

She married Charles Perkins at Fairmont and moved to Manchester, Ia., after his death in 1922.

Mrs. Perkins is survived by two children; two grandchildren; and one sister. The children are Mrs. Brooks and Wesley J. Perkins of Compton, Cal. The sister is Mrs. Eva Walworth of Fairbury. The grandchildren are Mrs. Heyen Sclendorff of York and Leslie Hottle.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by two daughters, Mrs. Grace Hottle and Edith Perkins.

Among those from a distance attending the services wee Mr. and Mrs. Bradley Brooks of Clayton, Kas., Mr. and Mrs. Van Brooks of Clayton, Kas., Glen Brooks, also of Clayton, Kas. a niece, Mrs. Wade Moore of York, a nephew and niece, Mr. and Mrs. Par Schlondorf of York, a sister, Mrs. Eva Walworth of Fairbury and a daughter, Mrs. Gladys Brooks of Clayton.
