Funeral services for Mrs. Myrtle Benninghaus, 78, widow of Carl, who died Friday at her home at 2308 Henry St, will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Nickels Funeral Home. The Rev. George Schowalter, pastor of the First Congregational UCC Church will officiate. Burial will be in Wildwood Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 4 p.m. Sunday.
The former Myrtle Rosenthal was born in Sheboygan on Nov. 20, 1898, a daughter of Frank and Emelia Rosenthal. She married Mr. Benninghaus on June 3, 1920. Her husband, who was well-known in the community for his work with the Boy Scouts, died in March, 1960. Survivors include six sons, two sisters, Mrs. Winifred Behrens of Milwaukee and Mrs. Eunice Quasius of Sheboygan. She was preceded in death by her parents and three sisters. A memorial fund has been established in Mrs. Benninghaus' name for the Heart Fund.
