The son of Floyd Transue and Ruth Berry Transue, he graduated from Easton High School in 1945 before being drafted into the United States Army and serving in Germany following the conclusion of World War II. Following the completion of his MBA from Rutgers University with honors, he worked for Mack Printing and later Doubleday Printing for over 25 years. He was married to Edith DePaolis Transue, also formerly of Easton, who passed away in 2008.
He is survived by his daughter, Ann Marie Transue of Roanoke, Virginia; his son, Paul Transue of Carterville, Illinois; two grandchildren; his sister, Marion Solt of Phillipsburg, New Jersey; and his brother, James Transue of Brainards, New Jersey.
He was preceded in death by his sisters, Eleanor Helme and Elizabeth "Betty" Yeager; and a brother, Frederick.
His remains were interred in Virginia.
