After Edith Aleida and Harley McCracken divorced she lived with Russell and Clara Myrtle McCracken in Sterling, Logan, Colorado. Mother said that Edith Aleida never could accept the divorce and was very hurt and unhappy about it. According to Nina she was never able to live alone, but always made her home with one of her children.

Edith Alieda Reed was born Aug. 20, 1879, at Creston, Iowa. In 1897 at Grand Island, she married Harley Gerald McCracken, who died in 1923 at Denver. Mrs. McCracken lived in Tulsa, Okla., before coming to Scottsbluff in 1936 to make her home with her daughter, Mrs. Bernie Humphrey. Surviving are her daughter, Mrs. Humphrey; three sons, Russell of Scottsbluff, and Orval and Ronald of Denver; and two grandchildren.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday from Read's funeral home, with Rev. Robert E. Beck officiating. Burial will be made at Fairview cemetery.
