Per Betty Jo McCracken Ehn: In the book, Northeast Weld County, The Early Years in Weld County and Life in New Raymer gives credit to Edith Aleida and her daughter, Ruby, for the prize winning quilt in the 1920 North Weld County Fair. After Edith Aleida and Harley McCracken divorced she lived with Russell and Clara Myrtle McCracken in Sterling, Logan, Colorado. Mother said that Edith Aleida never could accept the divorce and was very hurt and unhappy about it. According to Nina she was never able to live alone, but always made her home with one of her children.
Edith Aleida died on October 14, 1948 at the age of 69. Per certificate of death, Edith Aleida Reed McCracken died at McKay Sanitarium, cause of death is acute cardiac dilation, due to senility and malnutrition. Edith Aleida Reed McCracken is buried in Fairview Cemetery, Scottsbluff, Scotts Bluff, Nebraska.

OBITUARY
Mrs. Edith A. McCracken, 69, of 615 West Twenty-third street in Scottsbluff, died in Denver Thursday morning.
Edith Alieda Reed was born Aug. 20, 1879, at Creston, Iowa. In 1897 at Grand Island, she married Harley Gerald McCracken, who died in 1923 at Denver. Mrs. McCracken lived in Tulsa, Okla., before coming to Scottsbluff in 1936 to make her home with her daughter, Mrs. Bernie Humphrey. Surviving are her daughter, Mrs. Humphrey; three sons, Russell of Scottsbluff, and Orval and Ronald of Denver; and two grandchildren.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday from Read's funeral home, with Rev. Robert E. Beck officiating. Burial will be made at Fairview cemetery.

NOTE: Per marriage record Harley G. McCracken and Edith Aleida Reed were married at Des Moines, Polk, Iowa.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. today from Read's funeral home for Mrs. Edith A. McCracken, 69, of 615 West Twenty-third street in Scottsbluff. Rev. Robert E. Beck of the First Christian Church will officiate. Burial will be made in Fairview cemetery. Mrs. McCracken, who had made her home at Scottsbluff the past 12 years with her daughter, Mrs. Bernie Humphrey, died Thursday morning in Denver. She was a member of the Christian Church.
