Ira L. Tucker, 88, 317 Robinson Ave., Campbellsville, died Friday, Sept. 11, 1987, at the Taylor County Hospital after an extended illness. He was born to the late W.J. Tucker and Ermine Bennett Tucker on Sept. 21, 1899 in Adair County. He was a member of the Campbellsville Christian Church where he was the oldest male member, an elder and deacon of the church for some 50 years, elder emeritus of the church, and a member of the Campbellsville City Council for several years.

He is survived by his wife, Edna Wethington Tucker; a daughter, Mrs. Marvin "Virginia" Newton, Campbellsville; several other relatives and a host of friends. The funeral was Sunday, Sept. 13, at 2 p.m. at the Lyon-DeWitt Funeral Home Chapel with burial in the Brookside Cemetery. The Rev. Paul Patton officiated.

Active pallbearers were Ed Gabbert, Leroy Knifley, Kenneth Ewing, Paul Coop, Guy McAnclly, and Kimble Jessie. Honorary pallbearers were members of the Men's Bible Class at the Campbellsville Christian Church.
