The family group sheet, supplied by Joan (Swatman) Zimmerman, obtained from the 1851 census on Colchester Twn, Essex Co, Ontario Canada lists Eliza's birthdate at 1832 in New York, but the material supplied by Edward King of Texas, indicates a birthdate of March 24, 1833. Needs crosschecking.
She married Jonathan Bradley Coyier on 27 Aug 1853 in Rockford, Winnebago County, IL. Jonathan served in the Civil War. He died shortly after the war.
Eliza remarried July 4, 1867 to Lorenzo David Burroughs after Jonathan's death from the sickness he contracted during his Civil War service.

Eliza and Lorenzo had three children: Minnie (married Frank Kirkpatrick), Alfred (Alf) and Charles.

Eliza has also been found recorded as Elizabeth Burroughs.

Her parents came from England and her father was a plasterer. She met Jonathan Bradley Coyier when she traveled to Cherry Valley, Illinois presumably to work for an uncle.

The marriage to Lorenzo David Burroughs is recorded at the Lancaster Court House - Clifton Township, Grant Co, Wisconsin

Eliza is buried in a cemetery just south of Inwood, Iowa and her headstone reads "Eliza Coyer". Inwood is located in upper northwestern corner of Iowa and is the burial place of many of the Ernest Eugene Coyer descendants too.
