Commissioned, 1st Lieutenant, Veterinary Surgeon, Squadron A, NYNG, February 1, 1898. He served in Squadron A during the Spanish American War era and saw field service during the Croton Dam Strike, August 1900. He resigned from Squadron A in 1914.

His brother in law, Frederick W. Chesebrough, served in Squadron A, 1889 - 1907, 1916 - 1918.

Yale University Class 1888: Cornell University 1888 - 1889; American Veterinary College,1900, D.V.S.

Career, owned and operated Altamont Stock Farm ( Guernsey cattle and Shropshire sheep), Millbrook, NY, 1890 - 1931: published, The Field and Agricultural Digest: director Bank of Millbrook, 1892 - 1932.
