GLADYS L. MORGAN, 105, of Hutchinson, Kansas, and former Hackney, Kansas resident, passed away Friday evening, June 18, 2010 at the Hutchinson Care Center.
Born on November 2, 1904 in Winfield, Kansas, she was the daughter of Ed and Ella (Miller) Askins. She graduated from Winfield High School in 1925. Gladys was united in marriage to Glenn A. Morgan on September 6, 1932 at the Hackney Baptist Church in Hackney, Kansas, where she was a member for 73 years. Glenn and Gladys lived and farmed south of Hackney. Mr. Morgan preceded her in death on September 11, 1995.
Her family includes: Her son: Victor Morgan and wife Beverly of Peyton, CO; Her daughters: Glenda Bryant and husband Delbert of Junction City, KS; and Helen McKenzie of Hutchinson, KS; Her brother: Carl Askins and wife Iris of Winfield, KS; Her 7 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brother, Walter Askins; her sister, Hazel Spengler; and her grandson, Michael Morgan.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, June 23, 2010 at the Hackney Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Memorial Lawn Cemetery. Friends may call at Miles Funeral Service in Winfield from 9:00 to 5:00 P.M., Tuesday, June 22, 2010.
