He is survived by his parents, his wife Stephanie, and his sister and brother-in-law, Courtney and John Young of Roselle, Ill.
Chris aattended schools in Galesburg and graduated from Knox College in 1989 where he was a member of the Siwash Battalion of ROTC at Knox.
He was active in scouting, earning the Aarow of Light as well as achieving the Eagle rank.
In 1989, he volunteered to help the Red Cross following an earthquake in California , and delivered food to highway workers between San Jose and Santa Cruz.
In January 1990, he relocated to California and worked with assesment of ground water pollution.
Chris chose to be an organ donor and his wishes were honored.
A second memorial service will be in Gaalesburg, Ill.
