Phillipp immigrated to TX from Nassau,Germany in 1852,and married Sophie Schneider(close neighbor)Jan 17,1871. 1880 census shows him as sheriff/jailer;1900 teamster/wagoner; and retired stone mason and butcher. Some of his sons later pursued those same types of employment in Ft Worth at the packing plant. He died in Ft.Worth,TX following surgery during a visit to see his sons. Burial was in Fredericksburg with his wife. Obit in FW newspaper.
