Celebration of life services for Linard W. Actkinson, 80, of Lubbock will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, February 25, 2009 at Resthaven's Abbey Chapel with Pastor S.W. Keeton officiating. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park. A visitation will be held from 6 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, February 24, 2009 at Resthaven Funeral Home.
Linard was born January 19, 1929 in Farwell to the late Linard and Sallye (Jeffery) Actkinson.
He married the love of his life, Betty Yarbrough, June 21, 1947 in Lubbock. Linard was a loving father and Pa. He loved spending time in the outdoors and shared his passion for hunting, camping, and tending his roses and pecan trees. He was a member of Bellaire Baptist Church of Lubbock.
Linard was preceded in death by a brother, Marvin Actkinson, and a grandson, Sean Patrick Brown.
Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Betty; brother, Alton Actkinson and wife Betty of Phoenix, Ariz.; sons, Leonard and wife Susan Actkinson of Vallejo, Calif., Michael and wife Elizabeth Actkinson of Mesquite; daughters, Barbara and husband Robert Brown of Lubbock, Belinda and husband Ronny Cannon of Sand Springs, Okla.; 9 grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren.
