The Rev. David L. Pearce, 54, of 2678 Penn St., Fairmount City, Clarion County, died at 3 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 23, 2003, his residence.

Born July 10, 1948, in Bradford, McKean County, he was a son of Ralph A. Pearce and Mary E. Norton Pearce.

A veteran of the Vietnam War, he served from Aug. 25, 1967, to Aug. 24, 1970, in the U.S. Army with the 104th Co. of Engineers. For the past six years, the Rev. Pearce was a minister at Fairmount City United Methodist Church and Leasure Run United Methodist Church. Prior to that he was chaplain of the Rossiter American Legion.

He was married Nov. 16, 1968, to Virginia R. Clark Pearce, who survives. Also surviving are a son, Matthew G. Pearce and his wife, Beth, of Ellaville, Ga.; three daughters, Mary V. Cornelius and her husband, Joseph, of Bradford, Lucy L. Mayer and her husband, Arthur, of New Bethlehem, and Holly N. Crissman and her husband, Ronald, of Distant;
two sisters, Sally A. Labino of Rural Valley and Mary Sue Pearce of Bradford; and two brothers, William A. Pearce and Ralph N. Pearce, both of Bradford.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a niece, Amanda Pearce; and his maternal and paternal grandparents.

Friends may call from 2 to 9 p.m. today at the Charles D. Alcorn Funeral Home in Hawthorn and from 1 to 2 p.m. Sunday at Fairmount City United Methodist Church. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday in the church with the Rev. James Tubbs of Franklin officiating.

Interment will be in Hawthorn Cemetery, Clarion County.
