John R. Zell, 91, was the son of the late John and Martha Shone Zell. John was an electrician at the General Electric Company in Schenectady for 35 years, retiring in 1973. He enjoyed, bowling, golfing, crossword puzzles and square dancing. John had been a member of several senior groups and square dancing clubs in the area. He was known as Slugger from his younger days as a baseball and softball player.
In January of this year, John was predeceased by hiswife of 67 years, Dorothy M. Zell. He is survived by two children...; and seven grandchildren... He is the brother of Robert L. Zell and the late James H. Zell and Alice M. Zell. He is also survived by 11 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
