He married Theda Velva Muno of Oregon(her second husband) and they had two children. He died on April 17, 1979.

He was a certified public accountant with the San Bernardino county assessor's office 12 and a member of the CPA Association and Society of Auditors and Appraisers, and a graduate of San Bernardino High School. He was survived by his wife, Theda V, three sons, James R. of Redlands, William P. of Sylmar and Albert of Virginia, a daughter, Elizabeth A. Comer of Pennsylvania, his mother, Mabel Haggard of San Bernardino, two sisters, Elizabeth G. Haggard of San Bernardino and Louise Aucott of La Habra and three grandchildren. Allen-McNearney Funeral Home in Rialto is handling the funeral arrangements.
