Lavina M. Eiene passed away December 7, 1985 at the Belgrade Nursing Home in Belgrade, Minn. Funeral services were held at the Big Grove Lutheran Church on December 11, 1985 with Pastor James McCalmant officiating. Interment was in the Big Grove Cemetery.
Lavina M. Eiene was born and baptized at Elkton Minnesota. Her parents were Minnie and Wm. Gildemeister. In her early years, the family moved to rural Brooten area on a farm. She attended country school, later graduating from Brooten High School and then attended and graduated from Park Region Luther College in Fergus Falls. She married Roy Fauskee. They moved to Milwaukee, Wisc. for several years. They moved back to rural Brooten and farmed until his death in 1948. She then moved back to Milwaukee, Wisc. where she worked for the R. L. Polk Co., doing city directories for Milwaukee and surrounding areas. After her retirement, she married John Eiene. He passed away 3 years later in 1971. She then moved to Minneapolis, Minn. Where she lived for a few years before returning to Brooten. She resided in Brooten until in failing health, she entered the Belgrade Nursing Home on May 9, 1983 where she passed away.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Wilbur.
She is survived by one daughter, Betty (Fauskee) Olson, 7 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, one brother George Gildemeister of Paynesville and one sister Florence Herbrandson of Lawndale, California.
