Dwain Lamar Phillips, 83, of 4 Imperial Drive, died Tuesday, July 29, 2008, at St. Francis, Downtown.

Born in Franklin County, Ga., he was the son of the late D.B. and Estelle Kidd Phillips.

Mr. Phillips was retired from J.P. Stevens, Dunean, and was of the Baptist faith. He was a United States Navy Veteran.

Surviving is his wife of 62 years, Faye Couch Phillips. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Doyle and Thurston Phillips.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Bob Jones University Art Museum, 1700 Wade Hampton Blvd., Greenville, SC 29614.

Visitation will be held Thursday, July 31, 2008, from 9:30 to 10:15 a.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown. A graveside service will follow at 11 a.m. in Graceland Cemetery, West.
