With the exception of four years in Hutchinson, where he and his wife attended Salt City Business College and where he was in the employ of the Wells Fargo Express Co., his married life was spent on the farm one mile south of the Amend home place.

Besides his devoted wife, he is survived by two sisters, Nettie Wesley of Hutchinson, Kans., and Odessa Galloway of Tulsa, Okla.

AMENDS TO MISSOURI

Mr. and Mrs. I. B. Amend left Sunday for Excelsior Springs, Mo., where they plan to spend the winter. They expect to remain there until about the first of next March.

"My doctor won't let me work, and says he knows I won't work if I go to Excelsior Springs, so that's where he is sending me", Ira explained. They made the trip by car, just before the gasoline rationing deadline.
