Pearlie was the daughter of John C. Harrison and Janie Carry/Carrie. The information she filled out for social security said her mother's name was Janie Carrie. Janie and John had two children Pearlie and Clarence B. Harrison (FAG #5432780). Both were born in Indian Territory which later became OK. Janie passed away before 1900 (perhaps 1897/ 1898) when Pearlie and Clarence were found living with their grandfather in Jackson Co., KY. It was shown on the 1900 census that Pearlie's mother was born in AL. There are no other clues for Janie at this time. Pearlie told her children in later years that she was 4 and her brother 2 when her father brought them to KY to live with their grandfather Sheldon Harrison. She saw her father again when she was about 13 when he appeared where she was living for a couple of days. This information was supplied by Madelyn Marcum one of Pearlie's daughters.
In 1910 Pearlie and her brother Clarence were living with Joseph Isaacs in KY. It was mentioned in the 1910 census that their mother was born in AL. Her father was found in the 1930 census living in Jackson Co., KY. with his brother Lafayette. During the time period before 1930 John married Eliza Ann Devore and had three children with her. John Harrison died Sept. 18, 1938 in Sandgap, KY. His brother Lafayette was the witness who reported the death according to the death certificate.
Pearlie married Cornelius Noah (Neal) Marcum on Mar. 2, 1911 in Jackson Co., KY. and they had eight children perhaps nine. Their children were Florence b. Aug. 27, 1913, Clarence b. Sept. 4, 1915, Madelyn (Mattie) b. Feb. 13, 1920 (twin to Faye), Faye (Hattie) b. Feb. 20, 1920, Ned b. May 28, 1923, Nancy (Nannie) b. Sept. 1925, Rebecca b. Sept. 28, 1927, Helen b. Feb. 16, 1931, and I found a John who d. 1918.
