Valma Higgenbotham 1908-1979
Mrs. Valma I. Higgenbotham, 70, Bemidji, died suddenly at the home of her son in Bagley on Monday.
Services will be held Friday at 1 p.m. at the Bethany Lutheran Church in Bemidji with the Rev. Ray Person officiating. Burial will be in the Bagley City Cemetery under the direction of the Cease Funeral Home in Bagley. Reviewal will be held at the church one hour prior to the service on Friday.
Mrs. Higgenbotham was born July 4, 1908 in Park Rapids. She married Dick Davis in 1927 at Bemidji. He died in 1957. In 1958 she married Ben Higgenbotham in Bemidji. He died in 1963.
She was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church in Bemidji. She lived 10 years in Alaska, 15 years in the Nebish area, and the last two years in Bemidji.
Survivors include two sons, Richard Davis, Bagley, and Robert Davis, Buena Vista, Colorado; one daughter, Verna (Mrs. Don Boe), Anchorage, Alaska; 14 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one brother, Clarence Parks, Minneapolis; four sisters, Esther (Mrs. Magnus Lone), Englewood, California, Grace (Mrs. George Prescott), Bemidji, Martha (Mrs. Stanley Mitchel), Kirkwood, New York; and Leona (Mrs. Pat Horner), Brooklyn Center.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two husbands and two brothers.
