He went by his middle name Kidder. Kidder was a farmer; a Republican; and a
Baptist. He was said to be a kindly man. After the death of his second wife,
Sally, Kidder sold his farm; which was on the road from Williamstown to
Washington, Vermont. He then lived in the village of Williamstown, and died
there - at the home of his son Melvin. Elisha's two wives were cousins to each
other.
