Dennis was buried in the Bunker Family Cemetery on their homeplace at Bear Creek, NC, where his wife, Hero, was buried in February almost a month before. They were married over 70 years.

At age 94, he was the oldest person present at the 10th Annual Bunker Reunion held at White Plains, NC, July 31, 1999.

Dennis was a grandson of Eng and Sarah Yates Bunker, one of the Siamese twins. He was the last one to die of the William Oliver and Judy Ross Laffoon Bunker Family.
